Trust & Transparency

Research Methodology

This page describes how we evaluate and compare monitoring products. Theo Cummings runs the analysis with technical input from the Vantaj engineering team.

Evaluation criteria

Reliability and alert quality

We evaluate check consistency, false-positive handling, escalation controls, and incident workflow coverage.

Setup time and usability

We measure the time to configure common checks and assess dashboard clarity for daily operations.

Coverage and integrations

We compare protocol support, region coverage, status pages, and integrations like Slack, PagerDuty, and webhooks.

Pricing transparency

We compare entry plans, usage limits, and upgrade pressure. We note where prices or limits change by contract.

How we score tools

We use the same rubric across vendors so each comparison stays consistent. For each article, we document assumptions and call out missing data.
